Every format that has an image in it

JPEG 2000, HTJ2K, JPEG-LS, lossless JPEG, JPEG XL, RLE, big-endian, and MPEG-2, H.264 and HEVC video. These are what a hospital CD is usually written in and what most viewers refuse. That is 53 of the 62 transfer syntaxes in the standard — every one of them except nine that hold no picture to open: a JPIP file is a link to a server that keeps the pixels, and the rest aren't stored images at all.

Checked pixel-for-pixel, not eyeballed

Every decoder is checked against an independent implementation — pydicom, the reference library the research world uses, and for the formats pydicom itself cannot read, the reference decoder for each: libjpeg, libjxl, FFmpeg. Across a 1,347-file corpus, and it only passes when every pixel matches. A viewer that merely looks right can be quietly wrong about a number you are going to measure.

An engine that has shipped before

The decoder under this page has shipped inside a native iOS imaging app for years, reading scans entirely offline. It was not written for this launch — this product is what that engine can do for a case file.

Not a slideshow of slices — a lit, shaded, ambient-occluded surface you can turn with your finger. Thresholded to enamel here, on a dental cone-beam CT, and rebuilt in the browser from the same stack of flat images the disc arrived with. Nobody has to be taught to read it the way they would a grey slice — it looks like what it is, which is the whole argument for showing a jury this instead.

Why trust us with the imaging in a case?

Built by one developer, paid for by the people who use it

No investors, no advertising, no data brokers. Case fees and firm plans are the only way this makes money, which is exactly why the imaging in your case is not the product. The company is Oran Dynamics Ltd, registered in Ireland — a real one, with a number you can look up at the bottom of this page.

Case imaging lives on our own server in Germany

Not in anyone else's cloud storage. Study data sits on an encrypted volume, and the machine is ours. Studies are immutable once they land, and the original files are kept byte-for-byte as received — productions ship what arrived.

Deleted when you say so

One button removes a study, another removes your account and everything in it. Encrypted backups expire within 30 days — we say so rather than rounding it off to “immediately”. The one exception is a matter under a legal hold, where deletion freezes until the hold lifts.

A chain of custody you can print

Every access — yours, your expert's, ours — lands in an append-only ledger, and a disc whose patient identity doesn't match the case is quarantined until you release it. Each matter prints its chain-of-custody report for the court in one click.

Questions about opening a disc

Will it open the disc that came with the records?

That is the case it was built for. A hospital disc that will not open is almost never damaged — it carries its own Windows-only viewer, or the images are compressed in a format (usually JPEG 2000 or a lossless JPEG variant) that ordinary software has no decoder for. We decode 53 of the 62 formats in the DICOM standard: every one that holds an image. Drag in the disc's whole folder, the records vendor's ZIP, or loose files with no extension, and it opens in this browser — Mac, Windows, or the iPad in the conference room.

Everything that arrives is logged with a cryptographic fingerprint, so a year later you can show exactly what was received, from whom, and that not one pixel has changed since.

Does it work on a Mac, an iPhone or an iPad?

Yes — it is a web page, so anything with a browser works, and there is nothing to install. That matters because the viewer program burned onto an imaging disc is almost always a Windows .exe, which is why Mac offices end up here. On an iPad, use the ZIP from the records vendor or portal rather than the physical disc.

Do I have to sign up or install anything to try it?

No. Drag the scan in and it starts opening immediately — the first preview is drawn on your own computer before anything is sent anywhere. We ask for an email only once the scan is ready, so you have somewhere to come back to — your first matter is free. No card at any point. If you would rather see it work on a published research scan first, the demo and the sample scan need nothing at all.

What does it cost?

Your first matter is free — open the disc that is on your desk right now. After that it is a flat $79 per matter, once, for as long as the matter runs: every study, every share link, every export. Nothing is metered. No per-user seats, no per-study counting, no share-link allowances — if a plan covers a matter, it covers all of it. A per-case receipt names the matter, so the cost bills to the case like any other disbursement. And there is no setup fee, no sales call and no annual contract anywhere: a disc that arrives at 9pm can be in front of your expert the same evening. The whole price list is a page of text.

Is this appropriate for confidential client material?

It is built for it. Matters are isolated from each other; every file is encrypted in transit and at rest; sharing is off until you create a link, and every link is scoped, revocable, and logged. The audit ledger records every access to the matter — including your own — and exports with the file when you close it out.

Nothing is ever used to train anything, nothing is sold, and when a matter is destroyed at close-out you receive a destruction report listing exactly what was deleted and when — the artifact a qualified protective order asks you to keep. If I delete my account, is it really gone?

Yes. Deleting your account removes your studies and your records straight away. The one honest caveat: encrypted backups roll over on a 30-day cycle, so a copy can exist in a backup for up to 30 days before it expires on its own.

Is this a diagnostic device?

No. It is a viewer: it decodes what is in the file and shows it to you, accurately and without altering the pixels. It is not certified as a medical device, it makes no clinical claim, and it does not interpret anything or suggest findings.
